2025-26 product and pricing
SAP continues pushing EWM customers off ECC/Business Suite 7 toward S/4HANA Cloud and RISE/GROW with SAP bundles ahead of 2027 mainstream-maintenance end. Cloud-only EWM editions now the default path.
When this vendor is the answer
- Existing S/4HANA shop where the IT mandate is one ERP vendor end-to-end.
- Manufacturer running SAP MM/PP wanting tight master-data alignment.
- Global enterprise with country-tax and customs requirements EWM handles natively.
Buyer questions
Embedded vs decentralized EWM?
Embedded EWM ships inside S/4HANA and shares the same database. Decentralized EWM runs as a separate stack with its own DB and is required for high-throughput DCs or non-SAP ERP backbones.
Does RISE change the EWM cost?
Yes. RISE bundles compute, S/4HANA, and EWM into one subscription. The discount stack changes the perpetual-vs-cloud break-even.
When NOT to use EWM?
When you want best-of-breed WMS features (slotting, robotics orchestration, omnichannel store fulfillment) that EWM does less well than Manhattan or Blue Yonder. Bolt a best-of-breed on top via SAP-certified middleware.
